Well...

I'm an 19 year old Chamorro from the Mariana Islands which are located on the north western Pacific Ocean. The reason why I say the Mariana Islands is because I was born on Guam, but I was raised and my entire family is from Saipan, Northern Marianas. After living on Saipan for quite a few years, part of my family re-located to Guam, where I recently graduated from JFK High School in Tamuning.

That picture was taken at the "Grotto" in Saipan
(December 1999, my last "around the island" trip on Saipan...>>>>>

I am currently living in Vancouver, Washington with my brother Jay, cousin Tammy, cousin in-law James, and niece Tara. I came out here partly to go to school and partly to get out of Guam. I was in need of a new atmosphere ;) I was attending the local community college here (Clark College), but I recently enrolled into the International Air Academy. I'm proud to announce that among the 10,000+ students @ Clark, I was among the 500 that was placed under the Vice-President's List - my GPA is 3.93 - I hope it stays that way. Anyway, after completing the program at the academy, I hope to be heading back home for a while. I'd really like to take a course on any local subject (Chamorro, Micronesian History, etc..) at the local university.

I do plan on living in Hawaii. I might go there next year, once I get fed up with the freakin' weather here. Hopefully, I'll be lucky enough to receive my bachelor's in Political Science at Chaminade University in Honolulu. I was accepted to the university, but unfortunately, 22,000 dollars is just way too much for me or my family to afford. So, I'm going the cheaper and smarter route by attending a community college, first.

My family is most definately what makes me, me! I'm very close to all of them and even to my cousins whom I consider my siblings. Unfortunately, this is only true about my Mom's side of the family. I'm not as close to my Dad's family as I am to my Mom's. It's something I can't really explain. My Mom has only one sister and brother. All three of them have four kids. My siblings are Vince, Jay, and Tamar. Vince and Tamar live on Guam with my Mom while I live here with my brother Jay. Vince and Leticia Aldan happily granted my Mom the title of "grandmama" last November 29. She was happy to finally have a grandchild. She always thought she was getting old already and still hasn't gotten one, although she's only 43. I have ten half siblings from my Dad. They are, Glenn (Dec.), Florence, Marvin, Melva, Ramon Jr., Alicia, Maggie, Bobbie, Danita and Vicente. Marvin is the only one that doesn't live on Saipan, he's in Guam. All of them live on Saipan with their families.
